Company Profile
Conceived as a design engineering company,
Select Technology has a reputation for
technical excellence and innovation. Clients have included
British Telecom, Black & Decker, Hoover and the Public
Record Office.
In collaboration with The British Library, the company
designed a flat light photographic device (profiled on
the BBC's ‘Tomorrow's World’ programme) and a
photocopier (the ‘Archivist’) with a sophisticated
book-handling system.
The latter development provoked worldwide interest and
Select Technology developed and patented a design to exploit this
niche market. Select Technology's book copiers were sold into
prestigious locations around the globe.
It became evident that these book copiers were
successful in part because they were much simpler to
operate than standard machines. Consequently, the
company decided to develop a range of easy-to-use user
interfaces (UIs) for copiers and multi-function
products. These range from UIs that are configurable for
different markets, companies or individuals to those
that are particularly accessible to people with
disabilities such as wheelchair users or those with
visual impairments.
Select Technology also provides bespoke
solutions
for third
parties. |
